Popular television actor Rithvik Dhanjani has joined Zakir Khan on his new TV show ‘Aapka Apna Zakir’, sources told IndiaToday.in. The comedy series will launch next month and will see a few more actors and comedians coming on board.
“Rithvik has already been signed by the makers, and he’s excited to tap into the comedy zone with this show. Apart from him, Shweta Tiwari has also been approached for the show, and if all goes well, she too will sign the dotted lines soon,” a source close to the show shared with us.

Having gained fame via Pavitra Rishta, Rithvik Dhanjani was last seen hosting Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 11. His last acting project was web show Cartel on ALTBalaji.
The source further said that the new comedy show will see a mix of skits and celebrity interviews. For the unversed, Apka Apna Zakir is touted to be a replacement for The Kapil Sharma Show on Sony TV after the latter went to Netflix.
“However, Zakir has a different style than Kapil and he would play to his strengths. From his shayaris, life lessons to stand-ups, he would be displaying the same on stage. He would also host celebrities and indulge in some honest and fun conversations with them,” the source added.
On Friday, the comedian-turned-actor shared the latest promo of the show. In the same, his huge cutouts are being displayed around the city, making people curious. While they hoped for him to turn politician and change the quality of life, he appears on screen to say that he would do nothing of that sort.
“Khushiyon ki guarantee hai, manoranjan ka wadaa aur sabka dil jeet lunga, from baccha to dada (I guarantee happiness and entertainment. I would win hearts of everyone),” he states as the crowd around him cheers him on.
Aapka Apna Zakir will air on Sony TV. Shoot for the same will begin by the end of this month.
